Make your devices and online use greener

Problems this addresses: GHG emissions

Try to use online platforms that use renewable energy or have a beneficial social impact

Many of our devices are made from very toxic materials, but since COVID we’re using them to advantage to cut down on daily commuting which is a big contributor to societal emissions.

However, as we go more online, it will be increasingly important to make sure our online use is not running off fossil fuels. Try to use digital service companies that use renewable energy to power their services.

Work less, give back

Problems this addresses: GHG emissions, air pollution, Inequality

This reduces commuting times (and in the time after COVID, the amount spent on powering our remote working digital services).

There is a growing body of research to say that working less will not only improve our mental and physical health but also boost productivity, reduce unemployment and reduce our emissions by as much as 37%.

It would allow us to spend more time doing things which have a positive impact on the environment, such as growing our own food, and contributing to our communities as well as spending more of our valuable time with loved ones.
