SESSION 3/3

With 130 Gas and Oil licences granted since the last general election, and more expected in the coming months, the government has made it clear that it is not taking the climate and biodiversity crisis seriously.

6 of the 27 licences overlap substantially with marine protected areas and marine conservation zones yet assessments required under the Marine Act 2009 and the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010 – which were completed without any external scrutiny – concluded none of the sites were significantly at risk from oil and gas developments.

Join us in our next Climate Changemakers 3-week Hour of Action cycle in which we will advocate for our oceans and prevent any new gas and oil licences from being approved.

You do NOT need to have any experience or knowledge of gas and oil policy or conservation areas/zones. You will be provided with all the information you need to write a letter to your elected representatives through our Issue Briefing.

These sessions are a shared space for us to come together and feel empowered by climate action. Join us for one or for all three (each week builds on the previous one).
